Scottsdale, AZ 85260

6pm – 9pm

Doors open at 5:30pm

Topic: Motion Tips and Tricks

Welcome to the new year.  We hope everyone enjoyed themselves over the holidays.  We wanted to get the announcement out for this months meeting.  We have a new location, E3 Church, which David was able to get for us.  The access to the freeway is much better as well as there is a lot more room and should be a little more comfortable for everyone.

David would like anyone with any specific questions on motion to please send him an email with your question so that he may prepare for the meeting.

In addition we will have our usual FCP discussions.  We hope you can make it.  We have lots of prizes and give aways so come

and enjoy a pleasant evening with friends in some good conversation.

We don’t have any expenses so we don’t charge any dues or fees.

Everyone’s welcome for an evening of sharing regarding video production and FCP in AZ.

FCP Classes at Phoenix College

For those interested, Phoenix College offers a class (taught by our own Scott Anderson)  The class you would want is:

http://classes.sis.maricopa.edu/index.php?terms[]=4112&keywords=final+cut+pro&institutions[]=PCC01&subject_code=any&instructors=&all_classes=true

Final Cut Studio Class available at Phoenix College 01/18 – 05/13/2011

Phoenix College is offering TCM241AB “Introduction to Non-Linear Editing: Final Cut Pro” this Semester.

Don’t be fooled by the “Introduction” title – this class will take you on a tour of the entire Final Cut Studio suite of applications!

The first half of the semester will cover just about everything Final Cut Pro, using the same textbook as the Apple Pro Training courses. The second half of the semester will consist of overviews and practical exercises in the rest of the pro apps. You’ll learn text effects and 3D motion graphics with LiveType and Motion, advanced color correction in Color, common audio repair and multi track mixing in Soundtrack Pro, and DVD authoring in DVD Studio Pro.

The class meets Tuesdays, 5-10pm 01/18 – 05/13/2011, conveniently located at the Phoenix College Campus, 1202 W. Thomas Road in Phoenix. There is a new computer lab outfitted with new Mac Pros and Cinema Displays. There are only 14 seats available, which will make this a very intimate class, and allow for plenty of one-one-one instruction. For Maricopa County residents, tuition is only $71/credit, which makes this $334 4-credit class a great bargain.

For more information, or to register, please visit:

Phoenix College

(just search the class schedule for Final Cut Pro or TCM241AB)

Full disclosure: I’ve been teaching the class the last 7 semesters at Maricopa Community Colleges, and I think it’s really developed into a good, well-rounded class. I’ve had several full-time video producers as students who’ve given me rave reviews.

Scott Anderson

Instructor, TCM241AB
